University of Saskatchewan Huskies Jennifer Miller, Leesa Eggum and Megan Ripplinger were honoured by the Canada West Thursday by being named to Canada West all-star teams.
Miller and Eggum were named Canada West First Team All-Stars, while Ripplinger was given the nod on the first-ever conference all-rookie team. It is the fourth straight all-star selection for Miller and the first for both Eggum and Ripplinger.
A Kinesiology student form Saskatoon, Miller has been a strong presence on the Huskies’ backline for the last five seasons. Miller started in 13 matches for the Huskies in 2017 recording one goal and two assists.
Eggum, a fifth-year striker from Saskatoon, led the Huskies’ offence in 2017 scoring a team-best eight goals and four assists on her 36 shots. Eggum started in all 13 regular season matches.
Rookie Ripplinger contributed to the Huskies’ offence off the bench scoring four goals and five assists including three goals in one weekend. She started in five matches for the Huskies.
Saskatchewan finished second in the Canada West Prairie Division with a 7-3-4 record. The Huskies lost in a quarter-final match to the UBC Thunderbirds.
